Hi all,
I noticed that my eardrum was perforated 3 years ago by hearing a high pitched squeak when I held my nose and equalized pressure - went to the doctor for a diagnosis. Developed tinnitus shortly afterwards. Adjusted to it and, other than the odd flare up, was able to largely forget about it.
2 months ago I dived into a cold pool and instantly felt pain in the same ear. It lasted 30 seconds or so. Then a month ago I started to develop a much louder high-pitched buzz in that ear. Will be visiting the doctor to determine whether the perforation has reopened and hope that if so, with healing it'll quieten to previous levels.
Would love to hear from others with similar experience.
