Pulsatile Tinnitus Since Oct, 2016 — I Have Tried Many Things to No Avail. Next Steps?

I have had PT since Oct., 2016. Today it is so loud and just pulsing/whooshing away. I can hear my heartbeat in my right ear. I have had a MRI, MRA, CT with contrast and a carotid sonogram.

My ENT sent me to U of Md. and Johns Hopkins.....nothing!

I have tried home remedies, white vinegar & alcohol drops in the ear, acupuncture, magnesium, Reiki, you tube tapes, you name it.....I have been there.

I haven't got a clue where my next step should be. Any suggestions??

A small betablocker can help and hearing aids for some people.

Thanks.....I do take a beta-blocker for high BP. Yes, I do wear hearing aids but they don't help. Prior to a flight landing.....the quick air pressure got me.....I lost almost all my hearing in my right ear PT ear. I did not have PT prior to this flight.....maybe I should look up bad scuba dive and repercussions???

You will be picking up your pulse from your Carotid artery with your hearing being down.

My PT started in October, 2016. I had never experienced PT before. I was on a plane, in a holding pattern due to severe turbulence, and then air traffic control said we could land. The plane came right down....no gradual...just dropped. I was in high anxiety anyway, but when I got off the plane, I could not hear.

A few months later my hearing in my left ear came back to 95% but my right ear (now PT ear) was only 24% of hearing. I had a hearing test and got a pair of hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss in April, 2016.

I went back to see the ENT and audiologist in October, 2016 after the flight. Both of them were shocked at the loss of hearing. I have both tests.

Since that time, I have done everything you can to find a cause....

MRA, MRI, CT all with contrast...... also carotid sonogram. I have had Reiki, used home remedies, and presently in acupuncture. I have been to Dr. Eisenman at the U of Md. and Johns Hopkins as well.

No real diagnosis and still hear my heartbeat in my ear. I have no diagnosis. Everything is normal according to the tests. If you send me a message......I do not know how to answer it. I am computer challenged. Pat
