Hello,
I'm fairly new to this forum and have been trying to figure out exactly what is going on with my right ear. I've had a mild hearing loss caused by firearm back in may 2015 that had improved to about 20 db loss on 4khz tone after taking prednisone.
For all that time I didn't have any problem with tinnitus, and went on with my life happy to have restored some of my hearing in that ear, and effectively have it within normal hearing ranges.
Fast forward to november 2015, I've returned from a tip in Japan and one day I've decided to listen to some binaural focusing tracks while at work from a website i've found (https://www.brain.fm/). Now I don't know if that was it, but after listening for about 20 minutes to their deep focus track, I've started feeling a bit nauseous and had a strange feeling in my ears. All of the listening had been done through headphones at a normal sound level.
I've noticed after a few days though that I've developed a strange reaction to certain sounds in my right ear. Specifically, sounds like key jingling, computer keyboard clicking, computer mouse clicking, and certain words trigger a really high pitch sound response in my ear that goes away right after.
I don't have any problems while I'm in a quiet environment as I don't hear any ringing in my ear at all.
The only time that I have some ringing onsets even in quiet environment is usually after being exposed to loud environments, but usually resumes and goes away after a few days.
I've done another audiogram in december 2015, and it hasn't shown any significant changes in my hearing, it had actually improved by a few decibels.
So now I'm really left wondering what exactly could be going in my right ear that only certain sounds trigger a specific response in it that would cause this loud beep, but I don't have the usual symptoms of tinnitus, i.e. hearing it in quiet environments, as often I tend to find comfort being in silence as there are no sounds to trigger the response in the ear.
Any thoughts from members of this forum would be really helpful, as at the moment I don't really have any idea what could be causing this strange reaction in my ear!
Thanks,
