Hello guys,

I finally did it and took my first steps after smoking more than a pack/day for over 20 years to quit.

I am allready 8 hours smoke free and while this may seem ridiculous and laughable to most people for me this is a milestone , one small step for mankind, a giant leap for me indeed !

Just hope the withdrawal symptoms and yes, the tinnitus volume will not be too bad . I am sure my lungs and ears will thank me in the long run.

Any advice or experience from fellow quitters on this forum how to manage and not cave in to the cravings? I use Nicorette tablets btw when the craving gets too much. So far it seems to help (only 8 hours though lol !)

Guys , anxiety and stress levels are starting to skyrocket , this is damn hard to kick , especially with the increased ringing , just got to hold on ....

Congrats mate! That's amazing! It's likely your anexity and thus tinnitus will get bad during this time.

If things get bad, I would talk with your doctor as an option too as the benefits of quitting smoking are huge!

I quit a long-term, heavy smoking habit, with the help of acupuncture, many years ago. Good luck!

Well Bart...by now you have either broken the back of the nicotine cycle or resumed smoking. Hopefully not the latter.
Still wishing you all the sucess in the world with your quitting.

No, still have not smoked , 48 hours smoke-free , but I would not call the back of the nicotine cycle broken yet ! I still have nicotine in my system through the nicorette tablets , but the hardest part is not kicking off the nicotine but the habbit in my opinon.

5 days as a non-smoker now and feeling good ☺

Btw : read the book written by Alen Carr, very confrontational and a good read, recommended for all tabacco and nicotine junkies ;)

Great job Bart! Take it a day at a time.

Congrats...I would chew on tooth-pics and avoid social situations in which you would normally reach for a smoke.
Good luck!!

Well done I am giving up next week, I'm going to vape low nic at first then taper off. Just to take the edge off. Well done

Be strong, Bart. I quit cold-turkey about 6 years ago. It was a pack a day plus for over 15 years. I just got tired of it all. The health risks, the disgusting smell, ash trays and being a slave to the cigarette everywhere I went. I felt so much better getting free of it all. You can do it.
