Hey everyone,
I had a bit of a scare today, and I am hoping to get your thoughts.
A hanging rod with a bunch of metal hangers and some plastic bottles suddenly fell inside my bathtub. It made a really loud, sharp metallic noise. I was in the bathroom when it happened, and I immediately felt pain in my left ear as the sound occurred. The pain faded quickly, but I think my tinnitus has spiked in that ear since then.
I already have hyperacusis, so I am really worried about the possibility of acoustic trauma. The sound was sudden, very close, and echoed because of the hard surfaces.
Has anyone here experienced something similar? Does this seem more likely to be a temporary spike or a stress reaction rather than permanent damage?
Any advice would be so appreciated.
