Dunno if anyone have suggested this before, I never found anything by search: How about a "save this post" function? From time to time I read posts that I wanna keep, I copy the text and save them as .txt files on my hd. A save feature that puts a copy in my profile would be neat. Just like a local forum bookmark. "My favorite posts" or something like that.

Thanks again for a great service. There will always be a wish list no matter how good the site already is :)

This feature has now been added.

First, you will see a Bookmark link below any post as shown below.

When you click the Bookmark link, the following pop up is opened:

You can go to your own Bookmarks:

And see all of your bookmarks:

Also, if you make a Bookmark "Public", then they will be shown in your forum profile, as below:

Looking forward to using this Markku. Was trying to tell a newbie earlier today about a post that I thought was great and would help her but could not find it thru search. So thanks.

@Markku,

Great! It also works on Opera it seems :) Love the edit feature too.

What is a profile post? It says "To display a post here, click the 'Bookmark' link located at the bottom of each profile post." This is obviously something different than the other post, cause that is defined as a bookmark in the "Thread post" tab.

But what's the difference between a profile post and a conversation message? If you start a private conversation it's retrieved in the inbox, like a mail. So a profile post is just a variation of this?

Yes. Profile posts are public, conversations are private. Profile posts are limited in length, and meant mostly for quickly asking what one is up to or wishing a good weekend, and stuff like that.

OK, I see. Another tip for even further enhancement would be to add the ability to choose a different default in the "Public Bookmark?" section. It's two radio button choices there with Yes and No. If I always want No it's cumbersome having to switch from the default Yes every time. Either a "remember this" or a "always use this" feature, so if one wanted to store the bookmark as public for once one could only switch to Yes that time instead of having to switch to No 90% of the times.

Thanks for adding new features, it's really appreciated. I think it's important to add practical features that really lifts the user experience and not just for the fun of it, cause then it could fast become very bloated and slow, thus loosing function and speed. TT is good in those terms. The site has functional features.

Definitely something that can be added in the future. It's one of those little things that add to user experience but isn't so important as to be very high on the to do list.

Until the "save this choice as default" option comes along, I wanted to make the Public option default. It's great if we have people adding public bookmarks. Then anyone can easily see what others have considered worthy of bookmarking by simply checking out their profile.

But I can also see how some might prefer the Private option be the default one.

I am able to see stats on the number of public / private bookmarks, and if it starts to look like members prefer keeping them private, I can make the Private option default (until the "save this choice" is implemented).

Thanks Per. Keep 'em suggestions coming!

I can see where your coming from. The bookmark feature is a large step in itself. When it comes to stats I think they will always be higher on the default cause most users don't override default, the "out of sight out of mind" effect comes to play, a default choice is very suggestive as well. Perhaps the best outcome for the site is 50/50 between default Yes and the opposite No. In case of split decision everything is good as is.

Thanks again :)
