Hey all, anyone here a scuba diver? Do you still dive with tinnitus? Any specific precautions you take? Or is diving pretty much a no go once you have tinnitus?

I would avoid scuba diving with tinnitus.

I will never put my head fully in the water in the future because of what I've read here (tinnitus and diving in a normal pool).

I am an avid underwater photographer with about 1500-2000 dives. So not being able to dive would be devastating. Probably my hearing loss is dive related though, so indirectly so is my tinnitus.

I asked my ENT, and he says he sees tons of dive related hearing problems and they're mostly in the lower frequencies. My hearing loss is at 4 kHz, so somewhere below that. He doesn't think my hearing loss is dive related, and he thinks diving should be ok with tinnitus. Now, I don't have a very high opinion of this (or any) ENT, so we'll see.

Depends on how deep you dive, I would say. The deeper you go,,the more dramatic the pressure changes. As for me: am sticking to snorkeling or diving in water 25 feet or less.
Bu this is a question to ask your doctor.
