I have MEM/Tensor Tympani Syndrome. I've read that Botox can help because it freezes the muscle that spasms. However, I've called numerous places across New York and visited multiple ENTs and neuro-otologists, but no one is willing to perform the procedure.
It seems the only options they offer are either cutting the muscle or doing nothing. The doctors who have performed the cutting procedure in the past have expressed regret for doing it, saying it hasn't worked out well for their patients—so they won't do it anymore (not that I would consider it anyway).
Does anyone know of a doctor in New England who might be willing to try Botox for this condition?
