seven years of shaking vision and loud noise in my ear driving me insane and only three months after getting my TMJ splint this hell is almost completely gone. I'm not saying everyone with T needs a TMJ splint. Obviously T is caused by many different things. But I must say I'm one of the lucky ones then! Scans showed my skull was deformed, not by trauma as I had once thought but from birth. A great doctor had a porcelain splint made for my mouth. It looks hideous! I do not care!!! I didn't know if it would have any affect at all on my symptoms but if nothing else I hoped it would enable me to eat properly.
Well my Geiger counter in my left ear that used to be loud enough to drown out speech and my vision that would jump and twist exactly in time with the stupid noise IS ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE. I can go a couple or even three days without any symptoms or when I do get them it's for up to five seconds, much quieter and my vision no longer bounces around so violently that I want to throw up. And if not days, I go for hours between these episodes which last merely seconds now.
It barely bothers me at all. If this is as good as it gets I'm over the moon.
Anyone considering a TMJ splint - investigate it with a good TMJ specialist and see if it might be the answer for you.
