Very loud concert.
I know this question was asked before but just want to know what is your opinion and experience, is it better to stay in silence or use white noise or nature sounds. If white noise, with your frequencies or without?

Notched music is excluding the frequencies but does it really help? ACRN is in the ear of the tinnitus and there are tons of other therapies in and excluding the frequencies.

What if you are not afraid of hearing your tinnitus alone at all. Yes it is louder with blocked ears but you can get used to like it. But what is better for your ears. I still think silence is good for healing in general. Some say silence is bad some say silence is good since you give your ears a rest, but if you use nature sounds or white noise you give your brain a rest.

I personally prefer silence. Right after my last acoustic trauma I was severely bothered by my T and tried some apps but it only annoyed my tinnitus, doesn't mask it at all. Perhaps the high frequency HL makes it harder to mask.

I prefer silence when I can get it. I find noise annoying but I've always been sensitive. I truly think the wrong kind of white noise or maskers can make things worse. When I was trying to block an annoying sound I bought a white noise machine with nature sounds. Not only did it seem to aggravate the T but all I ended up with was the annoying sound, louder T and a white noise generator that grated on my nerves.

So maybe masking is helpful but I think it needs to be carefully done. I'm avoiding it for now.

In the beginning I used a white noise app or running water as maskers. Don't need them anymore. Just do whatever feels better until you decide it doesn't :)
