So I Found Something Called Nemos Trancutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation Device

As some of you know there have been studies where vagus nerve stimulators have been able to help people with tinnitus. I searched this form and couldn't find anything on the "NEMOS" device so I was wondering if anything knew if something like this would help. If a device like this would help, would it have to be specifically programmed for each person?

There are a number of devices on the market @JasonP, that stimulate the vagus nerve non invasively. The folk in Dallas, implanted their device, then paired stimulation with tones into the ear. I think it had very limited success, but there is a man speaking on a video on the American Tinnitus Association website, who claims it successfully reduced his tinnitus.

I don't know what kind of tones you would need to pipe into your ears, but if you did, I suppose it's worth a try. Nearly $3500 US, is outrageous for a little box that just sends an electrical zap to your ear, but I suppose if people are cashed up......

Personally speaking, the people that milk the desperate unwell with overpriced little 'electric boxes' are lower than snake's balls.

Madam, Sir,

Let me introduce myself : I am a Frenchman, I am 38 and I do have tinnitus due to a noise trauma that occured 2 years ago.

You have led and completed a clinical trial in Germany aimed "to determinate the safety, the feasibility and the effectiveness of your t-VNS STv3 device measured by tinnitus score according to Goebel and Hiller between baseline and week 24".

However, I don't see any description of a such t-VNS device (to treat tinnitus) in your website http://www.cerbomed.com/ even in a prospective "Pipe Line" section.

Could you please :
- tell me if you are the right company which promoted this device ?
- if it is the case, tell me if the results were good ? Could you please provide me your scientific publication including methods, success rate... ?
- if it is the case, did you plan to lead further clinical trials abroad, especially in France ? I am keen on participating in such a clinical trial.

thank you very much for your interest in our product NEMOS® for transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation (t-VNS®).

We received the European clearance (CE mark) for the transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation in the indications epilepsy, depression and pain. At the moment NEMOS® is approved for the European market and the device is available for patients with permanent residence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy only. Also, there is no scientific evidence that the therapy with NEMOS® has a positive effect for the treatment of tinnitus.

I tried it but it spiked my tinnitus. There is a thread here. It's basically a cheap TENS machine with an ear electrode. The music is not customized nor is it synchronized with the TENS machine, which would be essential. Most people had no positive effects from it.
