Hello,

Do you know anything about the odds of syringing ears helping to either fix or subdue tinnitus? My tinnitus primarily came from going to gigs, but is there a chance it could help? As i have heard some say it made theirs worse.

If your ears are truly occluded or impacted with cerumen, then it is advisable to have it removed - but I am not a fan of syringing, which is a blind procedure. Rather, cerumen removal should be done using the proper instruments under direct vision by an experienced audiologist or ENT.

A little bit of cerumen is normal and should be left alone. Migration of cerumen along the ear canal is the mechanism by which the ear clears itself of debris.
