Cause of Tinnitus
Acoustic trauma - loud noise
Hello everyone,

I suffer from the tensor syndrome of the tympanic muscle with 2 ears (especially the right). I have very painful contractions to sharp and sudden noises as if it suddenly hit my eardrum ... it hurts a lot. I also have neuralgia in the face and neck. I also have the sensation of cottony ears and myoclonus.

I try to minimize my stress but I have no major improvement in my symptoms.

I live in France, here, very few ENT offer solutions... One of them suggested me to cut my tensor tympani muscles. But I can't find any feedback on this operation.

Has anyone ever done it on Tinnitus Talk? Is it guaranteed that my pain and bad feelings would go away with the operation? In the long term, is there not a risk of losing hearing from cutting those muscles or any other side effects? In your respective countries is this a routine operation?

Thank you all for your help,
Alice
