Hello everyone.

I'm new to the group, I have had tinnitus for about 5 weeks now. I have been looking on this group for weeks now thinking/praying this would go away, however it has not and last night was one of the worst nights with this.

I hit my head on the road 7 weeks ago due to falling over and 2 weeks after I woke up with this strange ringing which I thought was just a weird headache. It hasn't gone since. I only hear it when I'm in silence like going to sleep but I'm also experiencing bad ear pressure, redness and cannot pop my ears no matter how hard I try.

I work with headphones all day so I'm guessing the fall and headphones have been the cause.

Specialists are all booked out til September nearby and doctors just say to forget about it, but how?

It's scary. I cannot sleep. I'm also only 26 so having this happen is something I'm still trying to come to terms with.

Any advice or positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It could be anything. But a CT of your mastoid would be sensible to check for fractures which could lead to this, and of course a hearing test.

Is your tinnitus in the head or in one of the ears, or both ears?

I did have a CT scan the week after and it came back fine. I also had hearing tested and they said it's normal.

It came on a week after the CT scan. It's in both ears but it's weird, it changes from one ear to another and to my head as well. It sounds like something electrical being tuned, it's so strange.

Any coping mechanism would be great!
