Tinnitus After Using Ear Syringe

A few months ago I started not being able to hear out of one of my ears due to a buildup of earwax -- I didn't want to go to the doctor's, so I got an at-home Debrox kit, one that comes with some drops and an ear syringe. After using the syringe (which did nothing to help the earwax) my ear started ringing and has not stopped. It's been months now. I haven't seen a doctor about this, like I said I really don't want to go to the doctor.

The earwax cleared up on its own a while after I stopped using the kit. If only I hadn't used the kit at all, i would have cleared up on its own and I wouldn't even have tinnitus! Ugh. I'm in my early 20s and the ringing is constant. Is this ever going to go away? Did I damage my ear with the ear syringe? The box said to use the syringe gently but I squeezed the bulb as hard as I could quite a few times in hopes of blasting the earwax out. Sorry if this is gross hahaha, too much detail about earwax. But yeah, the constant ringing is REALLY bothering me. I can't imagine living with it for the rest of my life.

This is how the founder of this forum developed tinnitus. Only in his case, it was done by a clinician.

It's obvious there was some kind of damage done - or else you wouldn't be experiencing symptoms. Sorry but you're going to have to see a doctor about this one.

Before wax is removed its best to use a wax softener like olive oil that is sterile and comes in a small bottle with a small dropper in the lid.
Use it daily up to ten days before wax is removed to make the wax come out easy.
I have heard a few people getting tinnitus after having wax removal.
There are other drops or sprays to use to soften wax too prior to wax removal....lots of love glynis
