Hello,
I am happy to find Tinnitus Talk. I have been suffering from pain, ringing and low humming sounds in both ears since a Caloric air test on Sept 18, 2019. I have been suffering daily and can not sleep. I have tried acupuncture but stopped because it was so expensive. I have tried a medication Clonazepam but no help. Sometimes the pain and volume is so bad I can not sleep. I haven't had regular sleep since before the test. It's been seven months now and I am terrified that it may be permanent.
This is the first website I've seen that says others have also been affected by the caloric test. The test itself was awful. The technician said that "everybody complains about this test." She also said that I stopped breathing during the test. Please help! Has anyone found an end to the ringing and pain? I had no problems with ringing or pain prior to the test. I have always pampered my ears and used to have perfect pitch. (I am a musician.) I used to have perfect hearing. I enjoyed silence at night with earplugs, but now all I hear is nonstop ringing, screeching and deep humming like a leaf blower. Sometimes there is a vibration in my left ear that makes my teeth rattle or my tongue go numb. This doesn't happen very often, but is very very scary when it does.
I appreciate anything you can share with me. I am desperate.
