Greetings, everyone,
I'm not sure when it started creeping in—sometime after 2008, I think.
Years at sea in the Navy, combined with time in the Army National Guard, loud music, and, of course, old age, may have "blessed" me with this curse.
Now, I'm trying out hearing aids to help with mild hearing loss. They're arriving today, so I'll soon find out if they'll help or not.
The tinnitus stops when I sleep. Occasionally, it randomly pauses for a few seconds, offering a moment of quiet bliss, before starting up again. It's just a steady hissing sound that I manage with background noise, music, or any distraction that soothes the brain.
This is my journey.
