Hi all,

I'm new to the group but have been silently (for the most part) dealing with tinnitus since 2008, caused by weapons fire during my time in the Army. I've talked to a couple of doctors I trust, but unfortunately, they haven't been much help or shown much concern.

Lately, my tinnitus seems to have gotten worse for no apparent reason. The silence is deafening. I'm listening to pink noise right now, and while it only helps by maybe 5–10%, I'll take whatever relief I can get. It's just really hard dealing with this on my own.

I've decided to contact an audiologist in the morning. Along with the tinnitus, I'm struggling with daily migraines, horrific insomnia, and severe anxiety. I sometimes go days without sleep. I'm also battling depression, which I believe is largely a result of the tinnitus and everything it brings.

I just need an outlet and a place to share. Thanks for listening.

Replying to myself here. Wow! I have even looked into whether doctors could completely sever my auditory nerves, but knowing my luck, it would just cause something else to go wrong or make it even worse. I actually got the idea from The X Files. You know you are starting to lose it a bit 🤪 when you are taking health suggestions from The X Files.

Most of the time, I have learned to cope and ignore it, but nights like tonight are just horrible. I am so sorry we are all dealing with this. I pray they find answers for all of us sooner rather than later.
