Tinnitus Hell Caused by Rabies or Tetanus Vaccine

I live overseas from the US in Asia, and on June 1, 2024, I was bitten by a neighbor's dog. The dog must have had a bad day, as I had petted and fed him many times before. Despite this, it was recommended that I get rabies and tetanus shots, which I did. Worst decision ever. The next day, I started experiencing tinnitus in my right ear. Today, a month later, my left ear is also beginning to be affected.

My ear specialist said it was just bad luck and a reaction to one of the vaccines, a rare side effect. Very few people have heard of this side effect from either the rabies or tetanus shot. This situation is maddening. I have found no relief from anything, and it is getting worse. Although I have had some better days, today is the worst day ever, and for the first time, my other ear is also starting to experience symptoms. It’s not ringing but more of a whooshing, hissing sound, like a bad speaker. I was told nothing could be done and that if I were lucky, my brain would adapt to it in 3 to 6 months.

I’m sure everyone hates this, and it really sucks. I have read all the suggestions on Google, but nothing has worked so far. I am not a happy camper.

 

This is the first time I’ve ever read about either shot causing tinnitus. I’m sorry this happened to you.

I just looked up online and found this report of a man who got a rabies vaccine and, within 24 hours, started to experience hearing loss and vertigo. It might be worth a read.
