Tinnitus Increases While I Walk Into Certain Places

So today I went to the hospital to visit my mother, but for some reason as soon as I walked in my tinnitus increase and I was able to physically feel it. Can someone explain why that happens? I'm so confused

The stress of your mother being in a hospital might be exacerbating your tinnitus on a subconscious level. I've dealt with this myself so I know for a fact that it's a very real thing.
