Cleveland Clinic lists the following as commonly prescribed for it:
Looking around Tinnitus Talk, it seems like Clindamycin might be the safest option. I took Doxycycline early on in my Tinnitus journey, but I do not remember exactly if it made anything worse. I could maybe try that one again. I am not sure if I can take Cephalexin with my Penicillin allergy, although I did take a couple of doses of it in the past before having to switch to the stronger Doxycycline. I do not think I had any reaction to it.Less commonly prescribed antibiotics in dentistry include fluoroquinolones and tetracycline.
- Cephalosporins: Common types dental providers prescribe include cephalexin.
- Nitroimidazoles: Common types include metronidazole.
- Macrolides: Common types include azithromycin and erythromycin.
- Lincosamides: You may need a lincosamide, like clindamycin, if you have a stubborn tooth infection that hasn't responded to other antibiotics.
