- Cause of Tinnitus
- Still unknown... possibly noise exposure?
Hello there.
It has been a long time since I made a post. The bad news is that I still have tinnitus. The good news is that it does not really bother me anymore.
I suffered from earaches, pain, and extremely intrusive tinnitus when this all started in 2015, and I thought my life was over. Well, my old life was indeed over. Since then, I have changed to a job that is quieter and less stressful. When it does get louder, I have my trusty earmuffs.
What I want to share is that even though I can still hear my tinnitus right now, it does not bother me anymore. I still get fleeting tinnitus, and after being in noise it still gets a bit louder, but that does not bother me either. Perhaps the fear response to tinnitus really does have an impact on its loudness. A lot of the time I will focus on something or stay busy, and I will not notice my tinnitus at all until I think about it or listen for it.
To anyone new to this situation, hang in there. Stay calm, or try to. Make the necessary changes in your life that can create positive progress. Things can improve.
