I have T, louder on right ear. Overall my t is noticeable in quite environment. There is something I noticed few days ago, when I move my head (a little harder) on left side, my T on right ear slighty increase for few seconds. Is it normal with T patients ?

Your t might be somatic.. possibility of treating it is high..
Better check with a doctor.. do some scans and tests of your head and neck

I have more or less the same problem. But the loudness/perception immediately increases when I put my head on the pillow. I don't know if this can be classified as somatic T because I guess it happens with most of the T sufferers. Maybe there is a neck position involved? Any advice ?

How is somatic T treated?

@Asian somatic tinnitus are caused by physical issues like tmj ..neck muscles stiffness.. nerves pinched..
For me also the t is bit loud when lying down. . But I doubt it is somatic reason for me..

Hi,
I have the same problem when lying down or pushing my forehead against my hand, but another problem is that I just don't know what kind of doctor I need, neurologists just prescribe you vitamins B.

Very common. There is a muscle or ligament that pulls on a nerve that runs through middle ear. My T volume more than doubles when I twist my head in either direction, but in my left ear only. Researchers have identified which cases may respond to treatment. From what I recall very few do. But certainly worth checking with your physician or a specialist. hey @I who love music 40 years ! BTW, do you have loud T ? How loud is your T these days ? Did your T sound increase during these 40 years ?
Hi
I had ups and downs through the years when I was around loud music. Overall, it has only slightly increased in all this time. But around 1977 I started putting cotton in my ears if I was around loud sounds.

Thanks, this give some hope to live with T. I am worried if it will get increased in future. Just wondering, should I put cotton if I am going to a movie theater.

Ishank,

When going to a movie theater, I think you should always take earplugs. Even foam ones will do, but high-quality earplugs would be best. There are various suggestions of kinds to buy elsewhere on this forum.
