I was going through antidepressant withdrawal, which I already thought was terrible, until I tried reinstating. I made a mistake with the reinstatement, and it turned out to be an absolutely awful decision. I developed increased pressure in my head, and a day later, I began experiencing a clicking or popping sound every time I swallowed. It also happens when I yawn and sometimes during other facial movements.

There has been a noticeable increase in my tinnitus, and my right ear does not seem to hear as well as it used to. This experience has completely devastated me. I am feeling severely suicidal right now, not only because of this but also due to other reasons. I truly cannot imagine living with this for the rest of my life.

Has anyone out there experienced healing from something similar? I have also noticed increased cracking at the base of my neck when I rotate it.

Please hang in there. From my own experience and based on my doctor's diagnosis, your symptoms sound very similar to Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD).

Audiologists and ENTs have a quick in-office pressure test to check for this. In my case, tinnitus becomes worse when one or both of those tubes are blocked or constricted. They are currently suggesting that I have tubes implanted in my ears to relieve the pressure.

For me, the nasal spray Flonase helps reduce the inflammation that causes ETD. It greatly reduces, and sometimes even temporarily eliminates, my tinnitus for a day or two. You can look up "how to get Flonase to the eustachian tubes" for instructions on how to apply the spray effectively. It needs to reach the tubes at the lower back of your nose, rather than being sprayed upward into your sinuses. If applied incorrectly, it will not work as intended.

I hope this helps, and I'm wishing you better days ahead.
