Does anyone feel their tinnitus?

I have two kinds that I feel a sensation with.

1: One of them is this zapping sound like something being electrically shocked and I feel this shock-wave for a fraction of a second when this happens. Not sure what causes it and it doesn't happen often.

2: The second one is when it spikes I feel this sharpness and it bothers me, when my tinnitus does this it lasts for a while.

I wonder if any tinnitus researchers have attempted to scan the brain to find this type of activity. I wish I could see a diagram of what it looks like when the zapping occurs, I'm assuming it's just nerve ending misfiring.

I get the zapping, but either I'm more used to it, or it doesn't happen as frequently as it once did.

@WildMan zapping sensation - Infection, such as with a molar that travels along the cranial nerve VIII, but vertigo would be present. A molar would also have discomfort which you didn't mention. If you had ASD, then there may still be some after effects that should clear up. I think that this was probably the reason.

There's some studies that say implied heat from a laser to the cochlear - nerve impulses that could cause zapping sensations which you also didn't mention. I doubt that you have anything to worry about. It should go away completely.

I feel sharpness in my head, absolutely. Especially during a spike.
