Tinnitus Worsens with Cold Weather

Hello,

I'm new to this forum but I've had tinnitus for many years and have seen several doctors about it. I was diagnosed with Meneire's but I don't really think I have that disease because I've only had two vertigo episodes in the last 15 years. However, I do follow a gluten/dairy free diet, which I think cured part of my problem. I currently take no drugs. My question is does tinnitus that worsens when the weather is cold point to a particular diagnosis/cause? The tinnitus is unilateral in my right ear.

Cold weather can spike tinnitus but don't think It can cause it with out another cause....lots of love glynis

I agree with Glynis, my T felt manageable last week after 3 weeks of meltdown, then Sunday I went on a 10 mile hike and the weather was windy and rainy all day, after 6 hours I came home soaked, well I'm not sleeping well as only a month in but Monday my T was louder, it's levelled off now but next time I'll take my ear plugs to see if it helps x

We all react different in different weather.
My mother with fibromyalgi hates the cold, her pain is much higher in the winter months then the rest of the year.

My T gets slightly worse when I been outside in the cold, probably because I already have problems with stiff neck/posture and the cold makes me tense up a lot.

Thanks for all you comments. I know cold weather doesn't cause my tinnitus but I was wondering if a spike in T during cold weather could point to a particular cause and/or remedy.

I would say it definitely could be related as my ear issues started in the winter and really spike as soon as cold weather hits. My doctor has suggested seasonal allergies so am currently trying Zyrtec to see if there is any improvement or lessening of symptoms and whine.

Hot, warm, cold, rain, snow, hail, high pressure, low pressure, clouds, sun, full moon, no moon, sunspots, volcanoes, tsunamis, cyclones, earthquakes, mudslides, hurricanes, eclipses and all other natural phenomenon, makes no difference to T. It does what it wants, when it wants.
