Hello kind folks of TT!

As I announce in the title, I feel like I was able to teach my tinnitus a lesson today. Those of you who have seen me post a few times in the last few months, probably noticed I was pretty preoccupied with my exams and concentration problems. My whole world was turned upside down when this all started. I felt like I had no way out, no way to escape. I truly felt trapped in my corporeal self. I was so absorbed by tinnitus and all that often accompanies it, that I had a hard time to see any sort of future ahead of me.

Today, I want to share with you guys that I have officially graduated. It is the first time since the onset, that I have felt a measure of control over my life again. It cost me blood, sweat and tears (literally), but somehow I was able to still achieve something I had set out to do a long time ago. In just a few months, I feel like I've made tremendous progress.

No small part of this effort is an achievement by those dearest & nearest to me, but also the members on this forum who reached out to me and gave me tips on all sorts of matters (concentration etc.).

That is not to say that tinnitus does not have a hold over me at all anymore. I still have difficult moments, but it feels much less oppressive than it did a few months ago. To anyone reading this, I hope you find the strength in yourself to move forward, to fulfill your ambitions, to persevere and achieve your dreams in face of this adversity. It is no small feat, but I want you to never give up on your dreams! I also hope I can inspire fellow students with this post, to give it the very best they can and come out the other side!

I also very much wanted to make this post to give thanks to a few members in particular, such as @Ed209, @fishbone, @glynis, @Jazzer, @billie48, and a few others. Even though I might not have corresponded much personally with some of you (as I've been trying to minimize my time on this forum during exams), I've learned a great deal by reading your posts and encouragement around the forum. Your presence and activities on this forum will not soon be forgotten! Thank you.

It feels amazing to be able to think again about how I will find a job or whether I would rather pursue further education, instead of wondering whether I will make it to the end of the month with my sanity intact. I finally feel ready for life again.

Sincerely,

Mellow7
