I will be having a tympanomastoidectomy next Thursday, has anyone had one of these or know someone who has and what the experience was, any replies appreciated thanks.

I don't believe its been done because the name can not be reproduced with any reliability. Therefore surgeons are afraid of performing the wrong operation. ;)

Haha, it is a long word isn't it.

Good morning: Is your surgery this coming Thursday? Best of luck, I will pray for you. Please let us know of improvements. - douglas

Thank you douglas, I really appreciate that. Yeah it's this coming Thursday, I'm hoping that it will help.

Hi Jake,
As you know my son had ear ops done to take out a growing mass and ear bones out and a new drum.
He went on fine and Im sure you will do too.
Its the waiting and thought of going under thats the hardest but the nurses are great and calming and reasuring.
Will be thinking of you ....lots of love glynis x

It's not over till it's over! Stuff can still change after the packing comes out, and even then it can still take time!
I sure hope it changes for the better, anything worse would be devastating. I Still have a little bit of positive thoughts left.

That's the thing, it changes alot. But the high pitched was staying more and more. Yes it's loud as hell before and now.

It takes a long time for an ear to heal. It's not a matter of days or weeks... it's actually months.
Good luck!

I understand that it takes time and it cannot heal fast like that. I just hope time will show improvement.
