      Hello all,

I’ve lurked on Tinnitus Talk for years and wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

I’ve had noise tinnitus in both ears for over a decade but recently I’ve been experiencing what I believe is typewriter or Morse code tinnitus. About 4 months ago I woke up severe TMJ pain in my right side. That’s about the same time I started having this new Morse code in my right ear.

I know TMJ and tinnitus are related but has anyone experienced Morse code tinnitus along from TMJ pain?

Figured I’d give an update here in case anyone stumbles on this in the future.

It’s been about two months since I got fitted for a custom night guard by a dentist. I have worn it every night and started acupuncture for TMJ pain. Thankfully my jaw pain has subsided and the Morse code tinnitus has significantly decreased where it hasn’t been much of a distraction.

If others experience something similar, I hope this helps.

Glad to hear! My tinnitus is probably TMJ/TMD-caused too. My left joint hurts the most, and my left ear rings the most, but my morse code is in the right ear for some reason. Looking forward to starting treatment too.
