I agreed months ago to see "Hedwig & The Angry Inch" with a group of friends in SF. We had dinner first and settled into our mezzanine seats. Then the show started and OMG, even the custom earplugs (silicone, I guess, that I had made last year) didn't reduce the volume enough.
I should have walked out. I just should have left, and let everyone know why later. There was plenty of quieter time of somewhat normal dialogue, but a "rock musical" is by definition NOT an entertainment for people with tinnitus.
I'm an idiot, but I wanted to make sure to warn anyone else not to be.
I've been working hard on the activity that has helped quiet it before - aerobic exercise + AudioNotch - but have not been able to do daily so the sound level is not great today. I do have Zumba class tonight and will stay for 90 minutes to see if that will help with tomorrow.
Warning to all! It was a great show, but not worth the aftereffects.
