My hearing is definitely worse in the higher frequency than in the lower (which are within 10DB). Other than loud noise exposure, what else can cause the hearing in higher frequencies to start to get worse?

I'd like to try and prevent it from getting worse if possible.

I have losses higher frequency too.. mine caused by infection and/or ototoxicity. . Cause I am not sure of it which caused my t.
Protecting your ears from loud sounds..ear plugs when ever needed. .
Plus some supplements , eat healthy and healthy lifestyle. .

Certain medications specially antibiotics, loud noises in discs, clubs, cinemas, traffic, honking, children, drill machines, girls, firecracker, dog barking, marble cutting machines,head/neck injuries, slap on ears, loud music on headphones, infections, extremely loud farts near ears, some jerk ENTs digging your ears wrongly, age, roller coaster and similar rides if you have T already, too much underwater swimming/ scuba diving, long and frequent flights, etc...most of these won't make your hearing worse immediately but repetitive and prolonged exposures will make some difference to your hearing or contribute to your T temporarily/permanently in the long run for sure as you have some loss already...and yes you heard me right...girls are ototoxic

Headphones. I wore them during workouts for years, 3-4x a wk, an hour at a time at probably unsafe levels, who knows. I still think I have good hearing but my audiogram drops off down to 40bd at 8000khz in both ears.

Hello all you doctors out there. 'doctors' I mean Tinnitus people. A doctor with a degree would say 'maybe'. I've been taking Xanax for 19 years. .25mg AM .25mg PM. Also 40mg Prozac. My T never had an adverse affect to it(Xanax). It has helped me cope for many years. I am currently in a relapse. I had some deep teeth cleaning next day awoke with loud ringing and dizziness.
Question could Xanax all of sudden have a ototoxicity on me?
