What Does It Mean When You Have Reactive Tinnitus on Top of Regular Tinnitus?

Hi guys.

I'm still struggling a bit with my new reactive tone. Tomorrow will be two weeks since I've had it. I'm not struggling the same way is struggled when I first got my regular T (those were some really dark days), but I'm still have some anxiety and I don't have motivation to anything (went a whole week without lifting, got back into yesterday reluctantly). I still sleep, not much. Only like 5-6 hours and I wake a lot in the middle of the night.

But I'm wondering, why do I even have a reactive tone, but a regular non reactive tone (the one I've had for a year and half). Basically, I have a hissing, and beeeeep that reacts to noise. It's kind of mild, but my biggest fear is that it'll get much worse. I've seen horror stories of people on here who some very severe reactive tinnitus and I'm afraid mine will develop to that.

I know people say reactive tinnitus is really just hyperacusis, but that doesn't make sense considering one of my tones isn't reactive at all.

So what the hell do I have? Anybody had a similar case like this?

your whole sensory apparatus is plastic, and hyperactivity just does weird things. If you were to have synesthesia, you might experience bright flashes in your vision along with loud sounds, or hear environmental sounds echo in a degrading fractal chorus. Such things are pretty common in dreams, mediations or drug trips, and random genetics can make them happen spontaneously.

I've only had brief episodes of truly reactive sounds, but to me it's just more neurons miswiring and mis-firing. All sensory experience is temporary and selfless.

I hope it is just an "episode" and temporary. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I've had it! Starting to feel like it permanent.

I'm hoping you're doing better by the way linearb. You helped once before and told me that you were somewhat habituated. Hope it's stayed that way!
