What's Worse... Getting Teeth Pulled Out or the Dental Drill?

Put some ear plugs during the process :)
The problem about dental drilling is that the drill is inside the mouth, thus inside the head, wich makes the sound travel from the inside to your inner ear, and not through your ears. So earplugs doesnt help much. Its kind of like talking while plugging your ears. It just doesnt block out the sound from your voice...

I wouldn't go to the dentists! Brush your teeth with coconut oil lol

I dont have around 7 tooths. Had really shitty childhood and leave it at that.

Not having them is worse than risking infections and there are multiplie complications you are looking at when tooth is extracted. Just ask dentist to drill with pauses, maybe do it in 2-3 visits - they can "bandage" place they work on between visits. I had a lot of drilling in life done and my hearing loss is very, very minimal (15db in <1khz?)

If you want me I can elaborate on topic but seriously, just don't remove when its not 100% needed.

Hi there,
I didn't have dental implants but I did have a couple of route canals and a deep cavity filled. The dentist drill seemed very loud due to the bone conduction. I have some mild h so I was concerned. No worries though, I did not have any increase in the t or h. I used headphones with very low music playing to relax me.

I had two dental implants, but that was 5 or 6 years ago; no relation to my tinnitus as far as I know. I hope you will preserve your teeth any way you can for as long as you can. There's a thread about NAC on this forum somewhere, and recommendations are given about how much to take prior to noise exposure.

Brushing your teeth with coconut oil won't help, but doing oil pulling is definitely beneficial for keeping your gums healthy. You have to do oil pulling for a long period of time, though. It isn't an overnight fix. Lots of info online about oil pulling.
