Cause of Tinnitus
Pregnancy or mild hearing loss.. Who knows.
I work in an office with lots of phones ringing, people talking, etc. We recently moved into a smaller area as they are upgrading our computer system. On days where my tinnitus is loud its almost unbareable being at work. Like today, they're having a potluck and everyone is yelling/laughing and the phones are all ringing off the hook and I'm sitting here listening to this high pitched dog whistle static in my head on top of all these women laughing/talking and I just want to smash my head into the computer screen. The volume of their voices / phones makes my T react and get louder... I have 2 more hours until I can go home and I'm about to loose my mind.

Just a vent! :thankyousign:

Hi Natalie,
Think I would have to stick my fingers in my ears or better still,
Put earplugs in and hide them under a Santa hat.....lots of love glnis xxx

Problem is I have to wear a headset (sits outside my ear) on one ear and be able to answer the phone occasionally and with ear plugs in I can't.. I tried putting an ear plug in one ear only and it distorted everything even worse. :( I'm just having a rough day so far and feeling really angry and frustrated.

Buy yourself some pro musician ear plugs. You can wear them and still use a headset as they do not protrude from your ear.

I bought a 26db filter, a 17 and a 10.

I plan on using the 10s at the cinema or any milder situations, the 17s at normal parties, the 26s at any music event/band practise.

Bear in mind it cost me around £250, but worth every penny.

I will look into them . A 10 would probably be good for work situations when things need just to be toned down a bit. Today was awful :( I need to be better prepared .
