- Cause of Tinnitus
- 1220hz/1275hz - middle ear pressure/suction
So I have a 1400 Hz-ish tinnitus that was caused, and flares back up/gets worse, when pressure is applied to my eardrum (like inserting earplugs or headphones not carefully, or slamming door while inside car, etc), so basically very mild barotrauma I guess.
Flare ups usually last about 30 days.
External tones from 1200-1600hz interfere harmonically with the tinnitus in various ways, so I guess it's a physical sound.
Anyway. If I put oil in my ear so my eardrum is submerged/sealed, then the tinnitus is very quiet/basically silent. What does this imply about the mechanism of the injury/tinnitus?
Thanks!
