Hey, has your T caused by hearing loss above 8kHz i remember reading something about it months ago. Was able to create account recently wanted to ask it and how are you wish u're ok
I have noticed the following changes since the beginning:

-there are loud and quiet days for me
-the sound in my "bad" left ear sometimes changes
-after getting up, T is usually quieter and gets louder again by bedtime
-there have been occasional days when the worst parts of my T were barely audible, but very rarely
-there are relapses, I am still very sensitive to noise at some frequencies
Hello everyone,

as of today I would like to document my progress regarding my noise-induced tinnitus.
I've had my tinnitus since October 25, 2024, so I'm currently at the beginning of the fourth month. I will try to post an update every month, or whenever there are significant changes.

I would be delighted if you would join me on this difficult journey!

Mine does after 2 years according to my agent. It's a term policy I have had for many years. It's too bad some severe health conditions make us think of ending it all.
Feb 3rd Texas Roadhouse is donating all profits for Dine In and Out orders to the ATA. I told my wife this, and she said... What is the ATA?... I am thinking where have you been the last almost 2 years. :banghead:
Since getting this it has made me want to explore audiology as a career pathway. It's alarming how many unempathetic experiences people have had with the initial realization of having tinnitus. I think about how unprepared I was at first - I think I really needed someone who got it to help me understand more face to face.
Hi Kenneth, i can relate to your story. Can you manipulate your tinnitus with neck or jaw movements? I also developed tinnitus after a period of health anxiety, and much later developed eye floaters unfortunately. How are you doing? Any developments? Take care, wish you all the best!

Hey, sorry you can relate.

I can squeeze my jaw to make it louder. But it almost feels like a different tinnitus? It's hard to explain but I always had the ability to make my ears rumble, ring, etc. Then the anxiety attack and now I'm hearing a flat tone tinnitus with a pulsing tone on top. The pulsing isn't with my heartrate or anything like that. No neck movements or anything affect it sadly.

It's changed once to become barely unnoticeable but I had to distract myself for a whole day. Then it came back in full force and hasn't really subsided since.
I've been having issues with sleeping and keeping positive. Only just over a month in. I remember 2 months ago before any of this started and I yearn for those nostalgic times.

How are you doing?
Week 9. I'm pretty much tired of caring, but I still do. I have so many different sounds. They come and go and change ears/head. I have a static, an old car idling, a squeak, a hiss, an almost beeping sound, a saw sound cutting through a tree or an old porch swing, and a high pitch EEE. I'm tired. Don't know my baseline, it ranges from 2-5/6 maybe? Idk. What's wrong with my brain. What did those meds really do to me?
Dont think i got a spike from the incident posted below. (more then the anxiety from the incident). Got alittle bit "frustrated" playing videogame and "yelledish" which made me abit irritated in one ear so kinda got a "fishbowl" over my head atm but im pretty sure thats from tension. Other then that it actually feels pretty OK atm :cat:
at first i wanted it to go away
then i wanted it to be not as loud
then i hoped it would at least remain stable
now i only hope to survive
Over the weekend, I came down with a sore throat and runny nose. Out of curiosity, I used an expired Covid rapid test and it came back positive with two solid red lines.
@SarahMLFlemmer Im actually doing so much better. My Tinnitus isn't better it's actually worse. I have just learned to deal with it better. I work all the time and try and stay as busy as I can to keep my mind off it. I do the things I use to do now. I will wear ear plugs with really loud things also even though it makes it louder. I just deal with it. I'm so glad you are doing better.
My tinnitus has been incredibly near silence since my acoustic trauma. Even if it is still there, loud noises no longer bother my ears and I rarely suffer from spikes, which I am thankful for. I have one tone in two ears when I used to suffer from seven in one and four in the other one - and it is no longer reactive. I no longer suffer from ear pain, but this doesn't mean I test the limits either.

To this day, I am still vigilant, but never overly so. I tell everyone I know about my experience with tinnitus and horrible ear pain for courtesy and now advise them to be safe with their own ears.

It's six years soon for me and I am still hoping for a cure and treatment for those who have had less luck than me. At the very least, there should be a medication to keep one's T stable.
Starting to think the exploding head syndrome episode i had earlier last week was a real loud boom and maybe that's why my right ear has been more bothersome the last few days?
Hello Kam, Stephen here, I'm in Paris until I leave on Wednesday. Let me know if you would like a visit. It's probably possible Sunday, Monday or Tuesday..

Take care,
Stephan
Hang in there man! It's tough I know it is but we are all in this together. Take a look into Susan Shore Device - many great things are coming soon.
I lost all hearing on the left ear even after all the standard treatments such as steroid injection and hyperbolic oxygen treatment.
@delta784 It happened without any reasons that I was aware. Just woke up and the left ear was gone and severe vertigo followed. No I wasn't stressed at all around that time. SSHL is known to strike without reason.
Hey all. Hope everyone's hanging in there. Thought I'd pop in and say I'm having more anxiety with my T, which happens every few months but eventually settles. Thinking about you all.
