Unfortunately not all ENTs know how to deal with it. Here in Brazil is the same.
But I know that when the "acoustic trauma" is recent the chances of recovery are 100% (doctor tell me)

In my case I'm having a crisis now (3 weeks in row), but I live with T (it) more or less 15 years, I'm years without noticing anything (except in absolute silence, or extreme quiet room), I had only two crises over the years (now having the worst)
