  • First there was tinnitus, then there was eye floaters. What's next? Hopefully, acceptance

I had tinnitus starting in July and then started noticing floaters in October. I was also on Flonase for ETD for a while. Not sure if there is a connection. I sort of feel like the tinnitus has started making me notice other things that before I would easily and unconsciously ignore. I did go have my eyes checked and they found a minor retinal tear, so, good that I could go ahead and get that fixed...

Anyway, the floaters seem to have decreased somewhat but they are definitely not gone... It is certainly possible to get used to them and they will become easier to ignore and less annoying when you happen to spot one. It took me about two months (I feel that I just made that "breakthrough" last week). I don't think that vitrectomy is worth the risk for only a minor case of floaters.

Hi Aaron. The only risk that scares me about virtectomy is total blindness/infection. Cataracts coming early isn't too scary as you can have surgery to correct that. I work on the PC a lot so floaters are extremely annoying for me. I may or may not just have a virectomy on my worse eye, i'm not sure yet.
