Looks like it's going to be quite a while, longer than a lot of us thought was realistic. Keep up the hope. Better late than never.

@RunningMan I dont think it will help my tinnitus at all..Ive got too many sounds and too severe. It just sucks to see its not yet been used by anyone who it might help. No idea if it works. I dont believe the self-reporting data in the paper.
Everyone is talking about earplugs and I can't even wear them because my head buzzes-static to bad. I try to tell everyone it's in my head, well yeah it's coming from my brain because my hair cells are messed up, but most people don't understand about it in the top of my head.
    MaxRabbit
Lord, when you have umaskable T! The static is so loud that putting on ear muffs only slightly heightens the sound. However, putting in foam plug makes it pure torture. Combining the two is insanity and only do this for the gardeners.

If you see this post and your T isnt at my level - be very careful to avoid this. Protect your ears when its loud or can be at any moment. Get sleep, support and practice self-care. Best wishes.
Hi @MaxRabbit as I am reading your posts quite often and feelin same I just wanted to ask you if you are ok? As you were seen last in November

Hi @MaxRabbit I am trying to live - the whole day is just around the Tinnitus - but I try - I can work fortunately as I can work in my own office in silence - the last two weeks I was in our house in the woods - this was fine

    - but one day we invited friends and from this I have a strange lound sound in the right ear .. I try to protect the ears as much as possible - but sometimes I wanna live - why did you get the worsening?

@brixenbrixen i know this is an old post. Just wanted to say, it's that living part that always kills me. The attitude all of you have is incredible.

Sorry to hear about that @MaxRabbit. Have you got any support around you lately, family or friends? Anymore Dr's appointment etc? Not that they seem to offer much :(
Eh I'm OK ear ringing in my left ear that gets worse/louder when lying down is horrendous for me as I'm getting disturbed sleep which as you know has a knock on effect. Holding out for hope and relief. Sending a virtual hug your way :).

@MaxRabbit I saw your post on @NYGuy re anxiety. My friend takes clonazepam.he adjusts dose to be able to control sleepy effect. Stress is my #1 enemy. Also poor sleep.i have hi pitched scream most days vary in loudness with occasional day or two off but I didn't get any days off for almost 2 years. Sending virtual hug.
hey there I saw a post about you using hi quality speakers. Have they helped any?
    MaxRabbit
Tried BT single speakers. Tribit has great sound! Easy on ears, very clean. But, connection would cut and it came back on at max volume. Didnt bother with another. Got Bose high-fi BT spkr. Quality? No idea. Voice prompt SO LOUD had to have my friend go shut it off. Why the fuck are speaker (JBL too) prompt sounds so loud!? Im back to using cheap SONY BT. Hope you can have better luck! Hope you are well!
Anyone know if wax ear plugs are okay as long as you are not talking? For sleeping or just around the house? Most fit too deep and irritate.
Just checking in. How are you doing?
    MindOverMatter
Bottom line; Think of your cycles as a good thing.

@kingsfan I'm sort of opposite, when a get a day off (or 2!!) I feel like my old self (only more deaf in one ear) but without T & I go and do!!also after 2 yrs of Much isolation im going out some. It's a challenge to overcome the loud hipitched scream in one ear while trying to 'be present' with the other ear. But when it's spiking at a 9 I just have to isolate.
    MaxRabbit
Your T shuts off completely for the day or 2? Thats great if so. How long has it been doing that? You have in just one ear correct?
The most important thing is to take it easy. Don't go to any noisy places, noisy events, and use protection when necessary. You still have a good chance of remission. Give yourself time. That's the only thing that can be done right now. Don't waste your time on useless doctors. Good luck!

Anthony is pretty much correct. Time and controlling anxiety will help you forward. Distract yourself and try to remain positive. It's a battle for sure

@MaxRabbit try and get an appointment with Dr Djalilian at UC Irvine.
    MaxRabbit
Yeah, depression is crushing on top as Im just stuck at home alone. Unsure how this will end up but I am trying to protect my ears yet they continue to get worse/make new tones. I'll see that Dr. in August if I make it. Thank you for the caring comments!!
Generally, in my opinion, stay away from these support groups as well. Nothing useful to gain there. Tinnnitustalk is the best bet, with the most knowledgeable people and useful posts/updates.
    MaxRabbit
Anthony, I did read some of your story when 1st on here. I'll go over these again and get more familiar with your history too! It's the scariest time of my life. Each day is a struggle.
Hey Max! Glad to see you on the forum. I saw your post.

Tinnitus/Hyperacusis gets better with time usually. Don't waste your time with ENTs (they are clueless about tinnitus) , they won't tell you anything useful, tell you "learn to love with it, it's not that bad", or they'll just tell you to do TRT which is useless and can make you worse.

    .
    J
The ENT are useless, they will laugh in your face and tell you to suck it up and fuck yourself. If they don,t do one of their stupid tests and they hurt you even more. If they didn,t exist,it would be even better.
