    ä Assume someone with hearing loss and tinnitus. If this drug improves hearing but has no effect on tinnitus, it could still seem like the person's tinnitus has improved because of his better hearing. They really need to find a way to objectively judge whether tinnitus improves.

    Could you give me a link to that anecdote? On topic: the Brai3n clinic in Belgium offers hyperacusis treatments. It involves placing a small membrane on the eardrum to relax the tensor tympani muscle. I have no idea about the success rate...

    I'm not convinced. You could say the same for so many other drugs who do get adequate funding. Why can Frequency easily get funding while Hough's pill is supposed to be better?
