  • Been a month since last post, and now Im laying in bed with the quietest T ever. Ive had two incredible days in a row & am very grateful :)
    BrOKeN_1
Great News! Get some sleep. Sleep changes everything..
    kuromi
I'm so happy to hear this!
    Brittany95
@BrOKeN_1 thank you and it really does!! I can definitely look back on my good and bad T days based on sleep quality.
Hi all, cant believe Ive been gone a month! New job is amazing & super quiet! T is better & less reactive too. Hope youre all doing well :)
    Matt G
@Brittany95 oh no need to apologize I totally get it! I am so happy to hear that things are moving in the right direction for you. I hope that there is more continued success and positivity in your future :)
    Matt G
Unfortunately, things still seem to be progressing, and I have developed mild pain hyperacusis, as well as TTTS that is uncontrollable. Reactivity still basically the same, but "new tone" seems to be subsiding.

Mentally, I am in a much better place than I was last month, and that is half the battle. Building recovery plans when you are in a better headspace is so much easier.
    Brittany95
@Matt G I'm sorry to hear about the hyperacusis and TTTS! But thats great you're doing better mentally. I don't know when my shift mentally was, but I know how much better things are when your mind is finally more accepting of this. And glad the new tone is subsiding! I had a new tone for 3 days that was like the noise you hear when someone in the car next to you has the bass cranked up. That was trash haha
Accepted a new job Thurs! Sad to be leaving my amazing coworkers, but really happy to be leaving this loud printer in our office behind lol
    Lurius
I hope you will have a better time. Miss you.
I hope everyone who celebrates had a great Christmas! I had my own little Xmas miracle and went and saw a movie with no spike afterward :)
So I had my absolute most quiet day so far yesterday and I think it had something to do with me sleeping ELEVEN hours that night LOL
    Lurius
Wow. Nice. I would like to sleep 11 hours as well.
    Shelbylynn
When I don't get sleep it gets way louder
    Brittany95
@Shelbylynn Oh definitely! The next night I woke up about 3 times, and sure enough it was louder that day.
1 year ago today, I went to bed with a ringing ear that would change my life completely. Looking back, I didn't appreciate silence enough.
    Brittany95
@Keith Handy it has definitely gone down and gotten better. I can sleep better and the sensitivity is less, so for that I'm extremely thankful. I'm just worried that since it's been here for a year now, I will never truly be rid of this noise and that's a hard pill to swallow at 26.
    Brittany95
@BrOKeN_1 I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat! And I definitely am. I really appreciate taking showers now because it's one of the few times I don't hear my T, and I feel it makes it somewhat quieter after I get out!
    Lurius
It's been with me for over 3 and I haven't given up :)
Well made it a week of not posting when I was having good days & today its back to crappy. Still quieter than it was months ago but like >(
Yo when will I learn to not post when I'm having a good day on here cuz the next day is almost guaranteed to be super loud and suck??
Cuz Im stupid & enjoy jinxing myself, today is a new personal low for me (even better than Monday) after just having 2 terribly loud days!!
    Lurius
Miss talking to you, hope you're doing ok :)
New record low for me today! Both ears are pretty even, & noise is at a crackly hiss still. Coming up on 11 months and hope to be done soon
Back from short vacation yesterday. Loudest T was the night after a college FB game & we walked back to our car WITH the marching band lol
    Damocles
    lol @Brittany95, that's f*cking hilarious.

Maybe they'll escort you everywhere from now now.
    Brittany95
@Damocles Everyone should definitely have a tuba player or two following them! XD It was so much fun and the energy was great from them, but I was relieved when they turned left and we kept going straight lol
Another wedding last night & I remembered my earplugs! Had a few random louder T moments once the band started playing but today Im fine! :)
Getting on an airplane in a week & am only now realizing that could be a bad idea. Any recommendations? Are noise-canceling headphones good?
    Steph1710
@Brittany95 same! I fly from England to Italy next Saturday. I'm pretty nervous about it. My dad was very kind and booked us seats near the front because they're quieter apparently.
    Brittany95
@ALS Crap, I was hoping to not have to wear earmuffs for a 3.5 hour flight. I'll definitely be bringing mine then! And my ears have had problems pre-T with planes where it would hurt and stuff as we were ascending and descending, so thank you for the warning on ear plugs :)
    Brittany95
@Steph1710 omg, lucky!! I want to go to Italy (and England lol) so bad! Where are you going while you're there? And I hope it's a good flight for you! That's nice of your dad to do that. I'll try and get seats towards the front too (we have open seating on our airline)
Kinda wish my ears would go back to straight ringing rather than the battling cicadas noise it's been for the last 6 months.
T's been soooo quiet the last few days, but then I went to the gym last night & it's loud now. Really doesn't motivate me to exercise haha
Boss is doing training now so our giant industrial printer is shut off. It's so quiet in our office and I'm in heaven and T is super low!
Yesterday was quiet, back to loud today. But overall my loud days are quieter than months ago, so that's good! Still hoping for silence soon
    Brittany95
Thanks :) It's actually been getting louder as the day goes on, which is so annoying. I just wish I knew why mine fluctuates with good day/bad day/good day etc. How have you been? Have your hearing aids come in/are they working?
    Lurius
Hearing aids is aquired on the 11th of October. I started working out on a regular basis and I upped my Lenire usage to 20 min a day. Both helped, so things have been better lately. Thinking about you, wish you all the best.
    Brittany95
That's awesome to hear that's helping, and I'm sure the hearing aids will too! :) I've joined the gym with my sister and just ugh...how do you stay motivated to go haha. We're lucky if we go twice a week...!
Switchfoot/NEEDTOBREATHE concert last night. T is a bit higher than yesterday but overall, still pretty low! Had my earbuds in & was fine :)
    Brittany95
Thank you! It was my first concert since pre-Covid. And funnily enough the last show I went to was Switchfoot! I hope you're doing good too bud :)
    twa
Love those groups, but my concert days are over. I went to a Lauren Daigle and JohnnySwim concert right before lockdown.
    Brittany95
JohnnySwim! Are you a fan of Fixer Upper? They would be cool to see :) And I hope one day you can see shows again. NEEDTOBREATHE was amazing and it was my first time seeing them.
Honestly can't tell right now if it's my T or the damn cicadas outside that's fluctuating badly cuz they sound so alike -_-
    Brittany95
Thinking of you too, bud! I'm doing much better today, it's almost silent. Yesterday it spiked after seeing Shang Li in theatres (but with my ear buds in) but today it's quieted down. How are you doing?
    Lurius
It's been a lot of up and down lately, but I've also had good times in the last 2 weeks. I started going to the gym again. I will get a hearing aid soon.
    Brittany95
Great to hear you've had some relief in the last few days!! And I hope the hear aid can give you even more relief :)
1st update in 2 weeks and doing way better. The reactivity is lessening, and I was able to go see a movie on Sunday with no spike! :)
2 days in a row of super low T, even after going to a comedy show last night (with earplugs in, though). Im sick today but still feel great!
Thurs was great, Fri sucked, then Sat & Sun were both VERY quiet. Today is a bit louder with a higher pitch, but I can handle it!
Held back tears at work yesterday it was so bad, today is the most normal & quiet day Ive had in 8 months? This is a rollercoaster ride lol
I honestly think Im over the worst of this, with brief periods of silence! But then I randomly get super loud days like today to ruin it -_-
Think my left ear is near back to normal after over 4 months since it started going! Now I just need the right one to get with the program.
