I'm a teen who is not yet a young adult, and I've had tinnitus for an indeterminate amount of time, however silent it may have been. However, recent to the time of me making this account, it got suddenly worse compared to before, seemingly randomly. After going through several wild romps on Google and seeking support from my peers on Discord, I found this website and a great, really empowering/comforting thread after facing a tinnitus spike that spooked me severely (my second one after the escalation.)
Since no one I am close to experiences tinnitus at a level which disturbs their everyday life, I've turned to this forum.
While I definitely am clutching on to the idea of consistently being positive about my tinnitus, it hasn't hurt to know the issues of others facing their own battles. It's gonna be difficult for me to stay positive, as my main coping mechanism of jokes has the risk of sounding insensitive, but I'll try to keep everyone in consideration, and hopefully spread to others the effect of comfort that I seek.
At the end of the day, it needs to go around to come around.
