When did you have Covid?

Not usually. The night leading into January 2 should be quiet and normal.

I use foam earplugs and earmuffs together. Double hearing protection.

@aab how do you keep them on without panicking from how loud the tinnitus is

My T does not bother me during day.
I need to turn off earmuffs, earplugs when I eat, sleep, pray. Read about occlusion effect.

I consider leaving everything behind and becoming an outcast. Tinnitus, if not mild, means a miserable existence. Sorry

@Juliane - so true. I can confirm. I wish I had the mental ability to stay inside all day everyday. It’s just as much torcher for me. This is insane and I am not even taking my daughter into consideration.

I think I do but have not been diagnosed. But I am definitely not the same person as before and I am experiencing a whole new level of anxiety that I never knew existed prior to worsened T

I am definitely a changed person.

@Tryn2BHopeful I did not even trust doctors before this ordeal but still was persuaded to take sleeping pills and I am positive they made everything worse. I feel so stupid

yeah, my life was ruined 20 months back by them, tho they are not neighbors but my own former tenants. I do have a few neighbors that violates the noise ordinances, but it's not life threatening so the police will not enforce it.

Loud neighbors are part of the reason I have bad tinnitus. Not bc of the volume of their noise but bc the irritating stomping and cupboards banging caused me to wear headphones nearly all day every day.

@kingsfan same with me, used headphones nonstop during my childhood to drown out their constant noise. 13 years later and they’re still just as loud if not more, people do not change

That’s a tough one bc prednisone suppresses your immune system possibly worsening your Covid infection, but not absolutely guaranteed. It seems likes all really a toss of the coin.

I am not sure but wanted to say I am thinking of you. So sorry. Nobody deserves this.

Yeah, it's definitely been progressive for me and so many others.

Hopefully this worsening is only temporary and your T will settle once you get over this bloody virus.

When I got covid In september my T temporarily increased then went back to baseline when i recovered. (I have a few different T sounds, but it was only the humming sound that went up, i could still hear it even next to an open window.) Stay strong!

You shouldn't take more than 10 regular strength or 6 extra strength within 24 hours. Can cause liver failure.

It is safe to take NSAIDs - advil, motrin, aleve - together with tylenol if you need extra pain or fever suppression.

There should be directions on the bottle. Usually 2 pills every 6 hours I think.
