Tinnitus After Using a Chainsaw without Hearing Protection — Do I Need to Give Up Shooting Guns?

Honestly, that’s a good question. I haven’t touched guns in about two years. I’m at the stage where I could probably go back—the craving to shoot again is strong. The only problem is that I would never forgive myself if I forgot to put my ear protection back in. I made that mistake once with a...

The Bionics Institute Claim They Have Found a Way of Objectively Measuring Tinnitus

That's what happened when I got tested there. You wear earphones, and they play a sound like the ocean, which then goes silent. I was amazed at how much louder my tinnitus was right after the sound stopped. Then, it gradually died down until the next sound played.

Elon Musk’s Neuralink Looking to Treat Tinnitus

I feel as if the trial is for the hardware component of the chip. They would certainly be able to improve software in those six years. It would be interesting to see if they still need 6 year long trials for implanting the chip in the brain, and who's to say they cannot be trialed all at the...

The Phase 2 results are the perfect example of looking at a half-full glass, looking at the first active treatment, vs. looking at the second active treatment. Which overshadows which? The first active group had a continuous improvement trajectory until the 6 weeks were up. Is it fair to assume...

The TFI and THI tests look extremely subjective. TFI (PDF) THI (PDF) The TFI looks a lot more rigorous than the THI. If I had to do both tests everyday, they would vary so much, despite my tinnitus being the same volume. We crucially need an objective way to measure tinnitus, I guess dB...

Eh, not the nicest feeling. However, I wonder if the remaining 35% could have benefited had they done more weeks of treatment? I don't see how it's impossible to think that their brains were adapting a bit slower.

Your points are valid, and I agree that at the outset, AI is indeed limited by the initial knowledge we input and teach it. However, the power of AI, particularly when it comes to AGI, lies in its capacity for exponential learning and self-improvement. In contrast to human researchers who...

Seems only the ENT's with tinnitus will be interested in it  that seems to be the big difference between a good one and a bad one with tinnitus. I hate to gatekeep, but unless you have this condition, it's extremely hard to comprehend one's perspective with it.
