Loud Tone for a Few Seconds — Fleeting / Transient Spontaneous Tinnitus

Hey :) so I woke up the next morning and my tinnitus was back to normal. I just did my best not to focus on it which seemed to work. I was definitely scared tho because it has never lasted that long and I have had tinnitus for 2 years now.

Loud Tone for a Few Seconds — Fleeting / Transient Spontaneous Tinnitus

Hey everyone, so I have been great this past year, tinnitus is always present but I have habituated for the the most part. Every now and then I get fleeting tinnitus on top of my existing tinnitus which usually only lasts a few seconds and never longer than a minute, hearing gets dulled and...

A Success Story About Myself to Encourage... Err... Myself

I completely agree that habituation IS a cure. I have experienced it myself, I’m not 100% but I’d say 70% of the time I don’t think about the screaming in the center of my head, my story is so similar to yours from when it first came on. I believe you will habituate again, hang in there ❤️

    Doing Nothing Worked for Me

You’re welcome. I just really want people to understand how bad I was. My tinnitus can be so loud to the point I have trouble hearing people talk if I focus on it. Even with something so bad life can still be normal and eventually our brains (if we allow them to) will naturally filter out the...

So glad that you are getting periods of relief throughout the day. That’s a GREAT sign!! Also I had REALLY BAD hyperacusis in the beginning when my tinnitus first started and OMG was it scary!!! The crinkle of a bag of chips would send me running!! I was protecting my ears from everything, I was...

    Doing Nothing Worked for Me

Hi Shelly I had originally responded to this message but I’m not sure what happened to it. But no it did not take me 18 months to habituate to the sound. It took me about six months to stop noticing it throughout the day and then gradually from there I would notice it less and less if I focus...

Thyroid Nodule — Now Needing Surgery — Have You Had ANY Surgery After Tinnitus? Did It Go Well?

Hi, yes they test for all of that each time I’ve been getting my levels checked for about 2 years now and they say it's okay. But I’m going for a 2nd opinion so I will see what they say.

Thyroid Nodule — Now Needing Surgery — Have You Had ANY Surgery After Tinnitus? Did It Go Well?

Thank you! I actually made an appointment with another endocrinologist in Jan for a 2nd opinion on my thyroid, and I will look into the taurine, I’m always scared to take anything new because of the tinnitus. I don’t think my thyroid caused my tinnitus because it came on in the same week I had...

Thyroid Nodule — Now Needing Surgery — Have You Had ANY Surgery After Tinnitus? Did It Go Well?

Hey all, So along with tinnitus which for the most part I’ve habituated to, I've had a plethora of other health issues since Dec of last year. Meningitis, Gallbladder Disease which I was told would need to be removed if my attacks persist, a thyroid nodule that was found in Jan of 2017 which...

Is Some “Head Noise” Normal That Everyone Has, or Is It a Component of Tinnitus?

My Tinnitus is in my head, high pitched sound 24/7 which I’ve habituated to, I occasionally get fleeting tinnitus in my ear that’s lasts less than 30 seconds. I guess I’ve always had this but used to only hear it in complete silence and assumed it was normal but once it made its grande deput...
