Duncan L
From mid teens to late forties I had low level ringing which never really bothered me.
Late 2014 I stupidly attempted a yoga move which I had done in my 20s. Starting off in headstand then moving legs forward to touch toes on the floor. I pushed it further to try and drop my knees. That's when i felt an alarming but painless rupture or event at my skull base. I immediately rolled onto my side. My head was swimming and I felt very weird. After a while I got up still feeling weird but I slowly came back to my senses. I carried on with my life as per usual.
About 2-3 days later the pulsating hiss arrived out of nowhere. Now over 6 years after this event and developing many other symptoms - most recently regularly stopping breathing, including while sleeping I am convinced I damaged my Medulla during the yoga stretch. The tinnitus is much worse now which is incredible as it was already intolerable. Anxiety and depression have been regular bedfellows - life became pretty much a mental game of survival.
I urge anyone reading this to please do not attempt such an ill advised yoga move - it could save you a long life of stress.
