You could try some Lorazepam just to give yourself a break. But please be very careful as they are a nightmare to get off if you become dependent... which sadly is much easier than you might think.

Mine is a high frequency pulsating hiss which has grown with intensity over the last 5 years. One increase was major after I attended a long music show. I also have been experiencing vertigo and my ears have developed an internal pressure which seems to be directly wired to the T.

Lorazepam (Ativan) works well for me but I am wary of becoming dependent. Reduces anxiety to manageable levels and consequently reduces tinnitus annoyance factor. Also really helps with getting a few hours sleep when I am a complete wreck.

Same here - if I nod off in front of the TV and suddenly wake up the T jumps straight to 8/10+ and i am straight into panic mode. On the exceptional occasion when I get a solid sleep the T can take longer to ramp up - but when I say longer I mean 10 seconds versus a millisecond.

That's pretty much what mine is - a pulsating hiss that sits at the base of my skull. Sometimes it's very very aggressive, sometimes more tolerable.

I have noise induced hearing loss and I have constant T and pulsatile T. Most days my PT reacts to noise levels and increases with ambient volume so I believe there is a direct correlation

Can you describe your PT? Is it a whooshing (like maybe blood surging) or is it a high frequency hiss?

I have high frequency pulsatile T which is driven by my heartbeat. But when I jog it starts pulsing in time with my footsteps a bit like you. After I have finished running the pulsatile T subsides and I am left with a loud hissing.
