I got Tinnitus in a matter of a couple of hours after sudden deafness. My tinnitus resembles a constant waterfall with fingernails screetching on a blackboard. Pretty much like this (on your IPAD, put this Mp3 to 3/4 of max volume):

I practice meditation to stay balanced.
