Hi there. Viewing your posts about dexamethasone injections as I consider the same. Having time now to look back at it, do you think it made a meaningful improvement in your tinnitus?

Steroids: Prednisone / Dexamethasone / Others (Oral and Intratympanic Injections)

Can I ask what your noise trauma was from? I recently just got over a flare-up from a dental procedure, and I got exposed to semi-loud sound last week. I'm having worse issues now, and I'm not sure if it's just a flare-up or if I could have done some more damage. It really didn't seem loud...

Tinnitus and Eustachian Tube Problems Following Tooth Extraction

@davcamp, how did you end up with all this? I think I am having somewhat similar troubles at the moment.

Tooth Extraction Followed by Bad, Uncharacteristic Tinnitus Over a Week Later

About 9-10 days after a tooth extraction, I started having bad, uncharacteristic tinnitus on the side of that tooth. I have seen examples on here and in studies where dental procedures (dental implants, wisdom tooth extraction, etc.) can lead to tinnitus or sudden hearing loss. Does anyone...

Share Your Experience of the VEMP (Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential) Test

Yes, they play loud sounds in your ear in pulses for 20-30 seconds to see if it has an effect on your balance system. I was going to refuse this specific test at first, because it's usually done at 110+ dB for a long time, but she assured me it would go no louder than 90 dB for only 20...

Share Your Experience of the VEMP (Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential) Test

Who else has had the VEMP Test done for vestibular function/balance? This was one of a battery of tests I had scheduled, and I had heard it was a loud test (120 dB), so I was going to pass. The audiologist reassured me they lowered their protocol there for safety, and it was 90 dB for 20...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

This is never coming out and/or will be a big disappointment. Mark my words. This has become a giant freaking joke.

Can Cefdinir (Omnicef) Antibiotic Worsen Tinnitus? What's Your Experience?

Hey. So I was taking it for a *possible* ear infection, as prescribed by someone at a walk in clinic. After discussing with my ENT shortly after, I very likely never had a infection to begin with so I am dealing with all this hassle for nothing. I believe it changed the quality of my tinnitus...

Bad Tinnitus Flare Up — Possible Reasons: Stopped Smoking Marijuana Cold Turkey / Stress?

Hey Guys, back with issues again... Two days ago my tinnitus got (even) worse, and I can't help but feel some medication is at play here. I was found to have a sinus infection, and given Prednisone + Amoxicillin. The day before it got worse, I took one 10 mg Prednisone pill of the course I...

    Lidocaine and Dexamethasone Perfusion

That's awesome RadioKid. I do think you'll have success with it. I'm not far from Shea Clinic and that's always in the back of my mind. I would love to hear about your experience when/if you go.

Bad Tinnitus Flare Up — Possible Reasons: Stopped Smoking Marijuana Cold Turkey / Stress?

I definitely feel more relaxed day to day being a regular smoker, but as I've gone cold turkey before it was not a big void or adjustment for me to stop... until I developed bad tinnitus. The usual insomnia and such from quitting really messed me up for a while there. Sleep is closer to normal...

Thanks for your follow up. I can't say if Xanax has done the same for me, but there is definitely lots of fluctuation with my ears right now. I'm hoping that I just took less than 10 pills over 3 months is working in my favor.

Chris, did you ever get better after the adverse effects from Lion's Mane? Do you still think that is a culprit for making you worse?

Hey Kenilworth, I was reading your post and I'm curious about your experience with Xanax. Do you still feel Xanax changed the properties/severity of your tinnitus? I was given some Xanax same as you - .25mg. I have taken perhaps 8-9 pills over the course of about 3 months, using very sparingly...
