Johnson & Johnson's Hearing Loss Drug Discovery — Targeting α9α10 Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor

I'll believe it when I see it, but any sign of progress is good!

Has Binaural Beats Made Your Tinnitus Worse?

I must say it is an absolute relief to know I'm far from the only person to fall afoul of binaural beats. More or less same thing happened to me last week when I decided to listen to some... I did so for about 30 minutes and within minutes I heard this multi tone in my tinnitus that wasn't there...

I Want to See Star Wars :(

I saw it yesterday, using my 18db reduction musician earplugs. They did the business. I think the film was louder than some of the others I've seen in the cinema, I guess it just depends on the film!

    Regretting My MRI Scan

I had an MRI scan done once back in 2015 and was aware it would be loud, they provided ear protection for me then. Later in the year I did experience a spike in my tinnitus, that lasted for the best part of two weeks. Was scary at the time though!

Jumped Awake by Spasm in Ears... What Could It Be?

I think you're right. I've read bits about EHS, or "Episodic Cranial Sensational Shocks" as it's also called, and it seems to cover a more broad spectrum than what many sources claim. Certainly isn't that uncommon either - my mum gets it in some way now and then. Last night when I woke up in...

    Post Your Favorite Songs

I like listening to a lot of Pink Floyd, which I find quite theraputic at times. I will listen to a lot of things though, depending on where the mood takes me!

Jumped Awake by Spasm in Ears... What Could It Be?

Hey guys, I'm not sure if my tinnitus is connected to this or not, but I thought I'd share anyway since it's all about ear issues and was wandering if I could get any thoughts or insight into this. Starting in late October, I was suddenly woken by a loud noise in both my ears at the same time...

It Comes and Goes In Phases!

In regards to that particular phase I think it's either eased off a bit or I've habituated, maybe a bit of both ^^.

    Scam?: Tinnitus Terminator

From what I have seen of these kinds of scams over the years, and not just tinnitus related ones, there's a few warning signs that they all tend to have in common, among which are; * The 'cure' for tinnitus is discovered by a single individual, one of whom we can't find any info on any official...

Stem Cell Brain Injections Let People Walk Again After Stroke

I always felt stem cells were a good place to look when it came to curing some of the nastier things in life. It feels like it's progressing at a snail's pace, but hopefully it gets there.

    NHL Hockey

I can't get NHL hockey coverage in the UK easily, but my favourite team is Pittsburgh Penguins. I also like Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets.

Deganwy Man James Ivor Jones Jumped to His Death After Being Told There Was No Cure for His Tinnitus

I joined this forum so I could find out the latest information on tinnitus treatment and research, not to be scared by stories of people killing themselves because of tinnitus. But as much as I hate reading these stories, they are invaluable towards raising awareness of this dreadful condition...

    Yes, pretty much, touch wood.

Was It a Spike, or a Setback?

My spike subsided about two weeks after it's onset. It was tough while it lasted though. It wasn't my first time either, but there's always that seed of doubt and unknowing that gets to us. Hope you'll get over it too Gosia :)
